Deputy Caught on Video Stomping Suspect into a Victim
In an arrest that occurred in Los Angeles on July 13, 2012, a deputy began stomping on the victim’s head after he refused to cooperate with officials. A criminal investigation is being made and the deputy has been released from duty with pay for the time being.
The criminal suspect, Alexis Husmario Torres was being arrested for allegations made regarding the inappropriate sexual advances he made towards a woman that day. When officials arrived to arrest Torres, he became unruly, fighting the police and putting his hands in his pockets to avoid arrest. This is when matters worsened.
One of the deputies to arrive at the scene was 24 year old veteran. When Torres began to resist arrest, the deputy stomped on his head. A Telemundo news crew got the incident on video and agreed to turn it over to investigators for review.
Los Angeles law enforcement officials are looking into the matter very carefully.
Law enforcement was designed to help the victims of crimes and accidents. However, this doesn’t provide immunity for them to be able to commit crimes of their own. The above incident proves this.
If you are being accused of a crime, especially if you are a member of law enforcement, you will need to hire a Los Angeles criminal lawyer for legal guidance and representation.
